March Madness is already here. After a busy round of conference tournaments, the men’s NCAA college basketball tournament — affectionately (and accurately) known as March Madness — is now underway. The first batch of games has already tipped off, with additional contests running all day and well into the night on CBS, TNT, TBS and TruTV.

A wild finish between No. 13 Furman and No. 4 Virginia delivered the tournament’s first big upset — and this was in just the second game of the first round.

Here’s everything you need to know to get in on the March Madness, from the first round to the Final Four and the National Championship game.

You can use a live TV streaming service to watch March Madness. The drone delivery business will get more competitive, in some Texas suburbs at least, with plans by Irish startup Manna to begin test flights in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

It isn’t yet clear exactly when operations will begin, since the company first needs approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration, Manna said on Thursday. Once it gets that, the company will be able to deliver meals, drinks and small packages to 10,000 people living near the metro area, it said. The plan involves a partnership with real estate developer Hillwood and covers a delivery area of 27,000 acres.

“We’ll begin with a single hub with less than 10 drones and grow our footprint as necessary,” said Manna Chief Executive Bobby Healy. “This will be a smaller, less advanced version of our European operation, but we will show that our technology, vehicles and operations are safe and fundamentally compatible with US regulations.”

The expansion plan will bring new aerial delivery options to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Wing, a division of Google parent company Alphabet, operates drone deliveries in Little Elm and Frisco, Texas. An Israel-based competitor, Flytrex, operates nearby in Granbury. Amazon, whose Prime Air service kicked off the drone delivery idea, picked College Station, farther to the south, for its Texas trials.

Drone delivery service remains unusual, but expect it to become less so as companies vie for the best way to whisk medicine, snacks, groceries and power tools over our heads. Drone deliveries promise to be faster than deliveries made by trucks, and to emit less carbon dioxide. They also promise not to worsen traffic congestion. For the technology to succeed broadly, though, companies have to overcome issues with engineering, cost, regulatory approval, safety, privacy and noise pollution.

Other states with drone delivery tests include California, Virginia, Ohio, Georgia, Utah, North Carolina and Arkansas.

Another competitor, Zipline, unveiled a new drone design on Wednesday that tackles the noise issue by keeping the drone 330 feet above the ground. The drones use a cable to lower packages that are inside a module called a droid, whose propellers can steer it to a precise landing spot.

Manna also said Thursday that Coca-Cola has invested in the company. It’s now raised $40 million total.

Just a month after announcing artificial intelligence integration with its search engine Bing and browser Edge, Microsoft is introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot, a tool that will work with you within its suite of apps including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and more. In a blog post on Thursday, Microsoft said the new tool will increase creativity and productivity.

“Copilot gives you a first draft to edit and iterate on — saving hours in writing, sourcing, and editing time. Sometimes Copilot will be right, other times usefully wrong — but it will always put you further ahead,” Jared Spataro, an executive vice president at Microsoft, wrote of how the copilot will work in Word.

It can create PowerPoint presentations and Excel data visualization with a prompt, Spataro wrote. Microsoft 365 Copilot will also draft email responses and summarize long email threads in Outlook.

Microsoft 365 copilot is currently being tested by 20 partners, though it will be available “more broadly in the coming months,” Microsoft said in a separate blog post.

Microsoft also announced Business Chat, which uses AI across your Microsoft apps to aggregate information and return it in response to a written prompt.

The PlayStation VR2 is still a way away, but there are plenty of PSVR games you can play right now on the PlayStation 5. You’ll need the original PlayStation VR headset to play them.

The PSVR has held on as a surprisingly good doorway to a wide collection of the best VR games. It includes a number of Sony exclusives. So while you wait for the PlayStation VR2, you can hook up the existing PSVR to the PS5 and enjoy VR games. Some of them even benefit from better load times and graphics, too.

Some words of advice: The PSVR headset is older tech that requires a complex, cabled box and an older PS4 camera, which will plug into the PS5 with an extra dongle adapter you’ll have to get from Sony. Also, most PSVR games won’t work with the new PS5 DualSense controller (with a few exceptions, like Star Wars Squadrons). For most gamepad games, you’ll need to dig up an older PS4-era DualShock 4.

Sony’s PSVR has other optional gear, too: wand-like PS Move controllers (which you need for some games) and a light-gun-like VR Aim controller. For the sake of keeping this list simple, I left off games that only work with those; below are some excellent titles that just need a DualShock 4 to work.

Also, a lot of these games also can work without a PSVR headset. They’re VR optional, but the headset adds a different level of immersion that’s often really compelling, with the downside of a lower-res display than you’d get on a 4K TV.

Your iPhone already has thousands of emoji, but you’ll soon get more — 31 more, to be exact. The iOS 16.4 betas include new iPhone emoji that beta testers can use. And as soon as iOS 16.4 becomes available to the general public, others will be able to use them, too.

The new emoji include a shaking-head smiley, animals like a donkey, moose and a goose, and additional heart colors, including plain pink and light blue. The plain pink heart has been a long-sought emoji, according to Emojipedia, which named it one of the site’s top emoji requests in 2015. Last year’s significant emoji drop in iOS 15.4 included a melting face, a biting lip and a pregnant man, with 37 new designs in total.

Emojipedia said the new emoji came from Unicode’s September 2022 recommendation list, Emoji 15.0.

There isn’t any word yet on when the new emoji will be available across iOS devices, and the designs of the new emoji might change between now and their final release on iOS.

Apple issued a handful of bug fixes and patches with the release of iOS 16.3.1 on Feb. 13, a few weeks after the release of new features in iOS 16.3 in January.

The updated Galaxy S23 was just released in February, becoming the latest in a long line of outstanding phones. But just because the Galaxy S22 series is no longer Samsung’s flagship lineup, there’s no need to worry. The S22 series are all excellent phone options, featuring powerful hardware and cutting-edge displays. These state-of-the-art devices remain some of the best Android phones out there, but that doesn’t mean the devices are impervious to drops, dings and scratches. That makes it all the more crucial to protect your investment with a good case. But with so many options available, deciding which case is right for you may prove to be a bit difficult.

Finding a case the right price for your budget is important, and there are many affordable cases out there, but there are also added features and functions you’ll want to consider when looking at cases as well. And make sure you get the correct model when shopping for cases — even the best S22 Ultra case is going to be too big for the base S22 phone, for instance. So what are some features to watch for while shopping for protective cases and which offer top-notch protection? Your phone model and how you use your phone may determine whether you want a rugged case or one with a slim and lightweight profile.

For example, the best S22 Ultra case options might include a kickstand, which is helpful because the phone is quite hefty. A slim case might be best for the smaller S22 Plus (with a 6.6-inch screen), which we like to refer to as the middle child in the S22 lineup, as well as the standard S22 (6.1 inches), which is the most “compact” of the trio. A case with card slots or rugged protection might work best for your phone, or even a case that helps extend your battery life.

Everybody has their own opinions about which features make up the best Samsung case — and the best case for phones in general. Ultimately, the best protection depends on your unique needs. That’s why my picks come in a variety of styles, from clear to opaque ones, and from slimmer models to more rugged armor cases and folio wallet cases.

Note that some of the recommendations for these Galaxy S22 series cases are based on my experience using nearly identical models with preceding Galaxy smartphones, as well as iPhones. The cases below are listed at the starting price for the line, so make sure you’re buying the case that matches your S22. The same goes for tempered glass for extra protection — match the size to the specific model of your S22.

All the new models have very good drop protection (13 to 16 feet, depending on the model) as well as Speck’s Microban antimicrobial coating. The cases start at around $20 in various color options. Sometimes Speck offers discounts to first-time buyers on its site.

If you’re looking for a cheap clear case for your new Galaxy S22, Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid is a good value at around $15 to $17, depending on the version you get. I like the Ultra Hybrid S (second from the left in photo), which has an integrated kickstand. The Neo Hybrid, on the far right, is a fairly basic case, while the Cryo Armor (second from right) is a $22 triple layer “gaming” case that’s designed to “absorb and dissipate heat from your phone during hours of gameplay.”

No drop rating is listed for these Samsung phone cases, but most Spigen cases, except for the slimmest models, offer reasonable protection. If you want a tough case with decent protection, get one of its Armor models.

Note that a lot of these cheaper clear cases have a habit of turning yellow and degrading over time, which makes them less translucent. But they’re cheap enough that you probably won’t mind shelling out for a replacement if and when that happens.

The company’s super protective Defender series case is available for all the Galaxy S22 models, but most people want something less bulky. I like the Symmetry series cases — they’re slim with beveled edges, making them a good mix of sleek and protective. That said, I’ve come to like the more protective Commuter Series better, thanks to the grips it has on the back and sides, as well as having raised edges on the front that should help protect your screen. The raised bezel acts as a screen protector to keep your screen scratch-free and the camera module gets the same treatment.

I personally like the burgundy color.

When you have a phone with a large screen, it can be a good idea to get some added screen protection with a folio case that also has slots for a couple of credit cards. Otterbox’s folio case, the Strada, is nicely designed with a magnetic clasp. Its only drawback is that it doesn’t convert into a kickstand for watching videos. It’s only available in black for now.

Otterbox also makes the Strada Via folio, but I prefer this model.

Cyrill doesn’t have quite the same selection for the Galaxy S22 as it does for the iPhone 13, but it has some protective clear cases with floral designs (pictured on right), as well as the Brick Matte Finish case (the blue and red cases in photo), which has a soft-to-the-touch finish. It has a raised frame on the back that provides some extra protection for the camera lenses. The corners of the case have a raised lip as well.

It comes in a few different eye-catching styles, all of them lined with the AiroShock material that the company says delivers excellent protection in a slim design. They do seem durable and all include a lifetime warranty.

Mous’ Limitless 3.0 cases are compatible with the company’s Limitless 3.0 accessories. That includes a wallet that magnetically adheres to the back of the phone case and a few mounts, one of which is an air-vent mount for your car.

Over the past decade, we’ve slowly moved from paper to digital documents. Whether you’re signing a lease, doing your taxes or filling out a contract, you can do it all from your computer. And if you’re a Mac owner, signing these documents is easier than you think.

You might be using third-party software like Adobe Acrobat Reader to fill out your docs, but there’s another way to do it that doesn’t involve downloading anything. Using the Preview app, which comes built in to MacOS, you can sign pretty much any document in seconds.

How to input your digital signature on your Mac

The first thing you’ll need to do is add your signature to your Mac, which you can do within Preview. To start:

1. Open the document you want to sign in Preview.
2. Now, click on the Markup icon.
3. Next, click the Signature button.
4. Select Create Signature.

Apple will sync your signature with your iCloud account, making it available in Preview on any Mac you’ve signed in to with your Apple ID.

You have three options to create a digital version of your signature:

• Trackpad: Select this option if you want to write your signature on your Mac’s trackpad using your finger.
• Camera: Sign a piece of paper and then hold it up to your Mac’s camera. Preview will recognize your writing, then digitize it.
• iPhone/iPad: Select this option to write your signature on a connected device.

How to add your signature to a PDF

Now that setup is done, your signature is in the system and you’ll see just how fast it is to sign documents in Preview.

With your document open in Preview, follow the same process we just outlined, except that after clicking on the signature button, click on your signature.

A small box that includes your signature will show up in the document, which you can then drag around and resize. After you’ve lined up your signature, you can save the document and then share it.

I timed how long it takes me to open a document and click the appropriate buttons to add a signature, and I was able to get it done in under a minute, and that includes adding the date by clicking on the add text button in Preview.

Google will immediately stop selling its augmented reality glasses, the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2, the company announced on a support page Wednesday. The announcement marks the second time in the past 10 years that Google has discontinued the head-mounted optical display.

Google has been active in VR and AR for years, making its first foray into sales of smart glasses in April 2013 with the release of Google Glass. However, the $1,500 headset was largely seen as expensive and invasive, and Google stopped selling its first Glass edition in January 2015.

Two years later, Google re-entered the market with a hardware revamp of Glass in a similar design. Instead of pursuing the consumer market, Google aimed the customizable Glass Enterprise Edition at the business sector, specifically factories and surgeons. The latest edition got a speed boost in 2019 with the addition of a faster Qualcomm XR1 chip, a low-power processor designed for lightweight AR and VR devices.

Though Google said it would stop selling the headset as of Wednesday, it plans to continue supporting the glasses until Sept. 15. Google said the glasses will continue to work after Sept. 15, but it doesn’t plan to issue any software updates and its preinstalled Meet the Glass app may stop working after that date.

The support page didn’t give a reason for the discontinuation, nor did a Google representative when asked. “For years, we’ve been building AR into many Google products and we’ll continue to look at ways to bring new, innovative AR experiences across our product portfolio,” the Google spokesman said.
