This StackSocial Deal Scores You 20TB of Lifetime Cloud Storage for Just $70

If you want to keep all your photos, videos, music and other important files secure and accessible, you’ll want to make sure they’re stored in the cloud. And if you need a ton of storage space, we’ve found a deal you won’t want to miss. Most cloud storage services require a monthly subscription, which can get pretty pricey over time. But with this one-time StackSocial deal, you can get a whopping 20TB of Prism Drive storage for a single $70 payment, which saves you hundreds compared to a subscription.

And if 20TB is a little much for your needs, you can get 10TB for $60, 5TB for $50 or 2TB for $30. Just note that these deals are only available through Tuesday, Oct. 31, so be sure to get your order in before then if you don’t want to miss out.

Prism Drive lets you securely store your files and access them from practically anywhere using your computer, phone or tablet. You can upload just about any type of file, including MP4, JPEG, PPT and more, and you can preview files in the cloud without having to download them first. Note that there is a file size upload limit of 10GB.

The service uses zero-knowledge encryption to keep your data secure, and deleted files can still be recovered for up to 30 days after. There’s no limit on the number of devices you can use to access your storage drive, and you can create shareable links to safely share files with friends and family.

Sony’s Best Wireless Earbuds and Headphones Are on Sale Right Now

If you’re in the market for some high-end wireless headphones or ANC earbuds, you really do need to consider what Sony has to offer before making a purchase anywhere else. The WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5 are among the best you can buy, and right now you can get your hands on a pair of either with a fairly considerable discount.

That discount comes via Amazon, with the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones now just $330 (down from $400) and the WFH-1000XM5 earbuds yours for just $250 (down from $300) if you act quickly. Amazon hasn’t said when either of these deals will come to an end, so you should consider ordering now if you want to make sure you lock in these discounted prices.

Both of these offer active noise cancellation and long battery life, but there are other options if you’d rather spend a little less. The Sony WH-CH720N are a solid choice and are just $98 today — a big saving over the $150 you’d normally pay.

Looking for cheaper earbuds than the premium WFH-1000XM5? The Sony LinkBuds S are discounted by $72 today, making them just $128. While their sound and noise canceling don’t quite measure up to the XM5’s, they’re still a solid set of earbuds.

Keep in mind that not all colors are always part of these deals so double-check the price before you add anything to your cart. There are other deals to be had on the Sony audio page on Amazon, so make sure to peruse them all before making your choice.

With inflation still pretty high, you’re probably looking to make every penny count. And one of the best ways to save some cash is by purchasing your groceries and other everyday essentials in bulk. Most big-box stores like Costco will require a membership to shop there, but right now we’ve spotted a bargain that can help you save on the upfront cost. A Costco Gold Star membership is typically $60 per year. But when you sign up right now through StackSocial, you’ll automatically get $40 back in the form of a digital Costco gift card, which essentially drops the price down to just $20.

This offer is available only to new customers, or those whose memberships have been expired for more than 18 months. There’s no set expiration for the deal, so there’s no telling how long it’ll remain available. We’d recommend signing up sooner rather than later if you don’t want to miss out on these savings.

With a Costco Gold Star subscription, you’ll get one membership card for your household. It allows you to shop at any Costco warehouse worldwide, as well as online at Costco.com. After you sign up, you’ll receive your $40 shop card via email. The card can be used both in store and online. It’s also worth noting that after you pay for membership through StackSocial, you’ll have until Jan. 27 to redeem the membership, or you may not be able to take advantage of the deal.

  • Snag One of Our Favorite VPNs for Just $3 Monthly With a Discounted Subscription

Snag One of Our Favorite VPNs for Just $3 Monthly With a Discounted Subscription

There are a lot of things that a VPN can help with, whether it’s adding a layer of security or letting you access content that would otherwise be locked due to your location. While VPNs tend to be expensive, you can get some big savings if you go for longer subscription periods, and the same goes for IPVanish, one of the best around. If you grab the two-year subscription, you’ll get a whopping 76% off, which comes out to just $3 per month. If two years sounds like a lot to you, there’s a yearly subscription discount that’s almost as hefty at 73% off, which is $3.50 per month. Whichever deal subscription period you decide to go for, do it quick, because this deal ends on Nov. 13.

IPVanish helps protect you when you’re using an unsecured Wi-Fi connection, like at a coffee shop, but it can also be super handy even when you’re at home and using your trusted network. Why? Because with servers in more than 75 regions, it can help you appear as if you’re somewhere else. And that’s huge if you want to watch content that might not be available in your country.

IPVanish can help you route your internet traffic via other countries to unlock content otherwise not available easily (or at all) in your home area, including movies, TV shows and sports. The service doesn’t have any data caps for you to worry about, nor does it log any of the traffic you send or receive over its connection. That’s all good stuff for folks keen to use their VPN to the max without worrying about their privacy.

IPVanish also boasts 24/7 support for those times when something isn’t quite right, and with multiple connection protocols on offer, you’ll always be able to get the best connection, no matter your device. Apps are available for Windows PCs, Macs, iPhones, Android phones and more. You can even use IPVanish with your Apple TV and Fire TV devices, too.

  • Upgrading to iOS 17? You’ll Want to Back Up Your Device Before Updating

Upgrading to iOS 17? You’ll Want to Back Up Your Device Before Updating

With the iOS 17 update release and the temptation to upgrade to the new iPhone 15 or 15 Plus (or even the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max), it’s probably a good idea to consider backing up your iPhone. Maybe you want to try out the cool new features from the software upgrade, or maybe you’re taking precautions in case your iPhone is lost or stolen. Whatever the reason, taking a few minutes to safeguard valuable memories like photos, videos and text messages can spare you a future regret. Even better, there’s several ways you can do it.

The easiest way to back up your iPhone is through iCloud, but Apple’s online service does have its limits. You might see the dreaded “not enough iCloud storage” error message, which won’t allow you to back up, but don’t fret.

I’ll also walk you through backing up your iPhone to iCloud to both Mac and Windows, which don’t require cloud storage. And I’ll even show you how to troubleshoot and work around some of iCloud’s limits.

For more, check out this checklist of things you should do before updating to iOS 17 before it drops today. (Spoiler: Backing up is definitely one of them.)

iCloud: When everything works like it’s supposed to

iCloud is a free service (more on that later) that’s tied to your Apple ID and that you can use to back up your iPhone. However, it doesn’t back up everything on your phone. Things you buy with your Apple ID, such as apps or music, won’t back up because Apple has a receipt that you already bought them so you can download them again for free. Email, contacts and calendars are usually synced with your email account like Gmail, but in some cases, you might also sync these things with iCloud.

You can double-check all this by going to Settings and then going into either Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes or Reminders. In any of these settings, you can tap Accounts to view your various accounts. Under each account, you can see what’s being synced: mail, contacts, calendars and so on.

To start a backup to iCloud, connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi and then go to Settings and tap the Apple ID/iCloud tab at the top, which also has your name. If you’re not signed in, take a moment to do so and then tap iCloud. On the next page, scroll down and tap iCloud Backup, enable iCloud Backup, and then tap Back Up Now to start.

screenshots showing steps to back up your iPhone using iCloud

Depending on how much data you have, or if this is your first time backing up to iCloud, the backup process could take a few minutes or an hour. Check below the Back Up Now button to see the exact time and date your phone was last backed up. Now, any time your iPhone is connected to power, locked and on Wi-Fi, it will automatically back up whatever new data you have to iCloud.

‘This iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage’

If that iCloud backup worked just fine, then great, you’re done. But I realize a lot of people won’t be able to back up to iCloud without a little work. You might see this message on your iOS device: “This iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available.”

Every iCloud account gets 5GB for free. But most people have more than 5GB of data on their phone — or they have more than one iOS device that needs backing up. Hence, 5GB just isn’t enough space. And maybe one day Apple will change its free tier to give us more data and make backing up easier for everyone. But until then, we need to do some calculations to optimize our iCloud accounts.

    Figure out iCloud backup size

As I mentioned earlier, iCloud doesn’t back up every last thing on your phone. Instead, it takes a smart approach and won’t back up things that are synced with your internet accounts or that you’ve purchased with your iTunes Apple ID. To figure out exactly how much iCloud space your backup file will take, go to Settings, tap on your Apple ID and then go to iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Backups. There’s a list of devices that are backing up or trying to back up with your account.

By the way, if you see multiple backups of the same phone, take a look at how old each one is. You might have an older iPhone backup that you can delete to open up iCloud space. Once you’re done purging this list, tap on the name of the device you’re currently using.

Give your phone a few moments to figure things out, then look at the top of the screen. You should see the following details: Last Backup, Backup Size and Next Backup Size. If you haven’t backed up your iPhone to iCloud before or in a long time, the Next Backup Size will be a pretty large amount of data. Obviously, if it’s more than 5GB, you must either buy more storage or adjust what you’re backing up.

Change what gets backed up to iCloud

Lower on the screen under Next Backup Size is a list where you can Choose Data to Back Up. This list will have apps and how much data each has to back up. The list goes from what takes up the most space to the least. If you just need a slightly smaller backup file, uncheck larger data items from the list if you don’t mind whether or not they’re backed up.

If all you wanted to back up was your camera roll, the only setting you’d need to toggle would be iCloud Photos. Besides Photos, there is a list of every other iCloud-enabled app on your iPhone, starting with Apple’s own apps. Besides Photos, the two biggest data hogs using your iCloud storage tend to be Mail and Messages. If you turn off the iCloud backup settings for these two apps however, old messages won’t be restored in case you get a new phone.

Buy more iCloud storage with iCloud Plus

This is the part no one likes to do, but Apple does offer four price tiers for storage: the free 5GB, $1-per-month 50GB, $3-per-month 200GB or $10-per-month 2TB plans. For even more space, iCloud Plus is getting two more options that gives you the option to buy 6TB or 12TB storage plans for $30 per month and $60 per month, respectively. (Note, Apple doesn’t have annual pricing.)

I realize that the idea of paying Apple more money on top of what we already spend on devices, accessories and AppleCare may not sit well. But if you lost your iPhone and were told you could download a backup of all of the data from your lost phone for just $36, you’d probably say yes. And that’s how much the 200GB extra storage plan on iCloud costs for a year. (If you need more space than that, well, it does get a bit spendier.)

17 Hidden iOS 17 Features and Settings on Your iPhone

    Use your Mac

A few years ago, with the release of MacOS Catalina, Apple replaced and fragmented iTunes, which used to be how you backed up your iPhone. Now, you must use Finder, but the process to back up your phone is still as simple as ever.

On your Mac, open a Finder window from the Dock. Next, select your device from the sidebar under Devices. Then on the right-hand side click on the General tab. Finally, click Back Up Now. Depending on how much data you have, this could take a while.

    Use your Windows

If you’re on Windows, good ol’ iTunes is still alive and kicking (you can download it here), and you can use it to back up your iPhone. According to Apple, all you have to do is plug your iPhone into your computer, give your devices permission to talk to each other and then click on the small iPhone icon on the top left side of the iTunes window.

Click Summary and then scroll down to the Backup section, and under the Backup section click Back Up now. After some time, your computer will have a backup file of your iPhone. To double-check the file, go to the iTunes menu, select Edits, then Preferences and then choose the Devices tab. From there, you can see a list of any iPhone backups that you’ve made via iTunes.

Keep in mind that your backup is only as current as the last time you ran the process. Also, your backup file is only as safe as your computer is.

Installing iOS 17? Check Out These Steps First

Along with the new iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch 9, September’s Apple event brought us the release of iOS 17, the latest version of the iPhone’s operating system. The latest version of iOS contains major updates to apps like Messages, Maps and Siri, while adding new features like StandBy Mode and NameDrop.

Read more: 7 Hidden Features of iOS 17 That You Shouldn’t Miss

iOS 17 has been out for several weeks, but if you didn’t update right after it hit your phone, it’s never too late to try it out. Before you think about doing that though, there are a few things to know. Read on to learn everything you should do before installing iOS 17 on your iPhone.

To learn more about iOS 17, check out all the best features on iOS 17 and whether or not your iPhone supports iOS 17.

First, is your iPhone even compatible with iOS 17?

As long as you own an iPhone XS or later, you should be able to download iOS 17. Below is a full list of every iPhone compatible with Apple’s new software update. And if your current phone isn’t on the list, here are some more recent iPhone models to consider purchasing.

The iPhone 15 series, Apple’s latest phones, comes with iOS 17 already installed, so you won’t have to do any updating.

Next, make sure your iPhone is fully updated

Before you update to iOS 17, make sure you’re updated to the latest iOS 16 version so that you don’t encounter any issues if you decide to revert. Also, it’s just good to always be updated to the newest mobile software version in case there are major bugs or other issues in older iOS versions.

To update your iPhone to the latest version iOS 16, go to Settings > General > Software Update and check for any available updates.

Now, back up your iPhone before installing iOS 17

This is important: Even though iOS 17 has been out for a couple of weeks, updating your phone can still put it in jeopardy. You could potentially lose pictures, text messages, app data and other treasured memories you’ve stored on your phone. However, you can protect against the risk of losing data when you update.

The best way to protect your info is to back up your iPhone while it’s still running iOS 16. The reason is that if you update to iOS 17 but then decide to go back to iOS 16, you have an up-to-date backup to revert to, so that you keep your most recent photos, text messages, app data and more.

Now, there are two ways to back up your iPhone: via iCloud and your computer.

Back up your iPhone with iCloud

Your iPhone should automatically back up by default once a day, as long as your device is connected to both a power source and Wi-Fi and locked.

To check if this feature is enabled, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud Backup and make sure that Back Up This iPhone is enabled. Also, if you have a compatible 5G iPhone, including the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models, you can enable Back Up Over Cellular to have your iPhone back up over your cellular network when you’re not connected to W-Fi.

You can also just manually back up your iPhone with iCloud. In the same iCloud Backup page, simply tap Back Up Now. Underneath that, you’ll see the last time a successful backup was created. Under All Device Backups, you can check out more information about your backups, including backup size, and customize what is backed up.

Using iCloud Backup on your iPhone

Back up your iPhone with Mac or Windows

If you don’t have storage on your iPhone or iCloud, you always have the option to back up your device via your computer.

On Mac, connect your iPhone to your computer via lightning cable, open Finder and select your iPhone. Next, check the circle next to Back up all of the data on your iPhone to this Mac and then hit Back Up Now.

Backing up your iPhone on your Mac

The process with Windows is pretty similar. Again, connect your iPhone to your computer via cable, but this time open the iTunes app and click the iPhone button on the top-left of the window. In the Summary page, click Back Up Now to back up your iPhone to your Windows PC.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 is currently one of the most popular Android devices on the market. The S23 lineup is Samsung’s flagship lineup, which means these phones come with a hefty price tag. Protecting such an expensive purchase from scratches and other damage is vital to keeping your phone longer. If you’re here, you’re probably looking for a new case for whatever S23 model you’ve bought, whether that’s an S23 Ultra case, a Plus case or a case for the base S23 model. There are lots of Galaxy S23 cases to choose from, and we’re now seeing some manufacturers add magnetic properties to their cases so you can use them not only with Apple MagSafe accessories but also with non-Apple magnetic accessories like wallets, batteries and stands.

Finding a case that fits your budget is important, but you should also consider the features. For example, Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra owners may want a case with an integrated kickstand, because they’re larger phones (the Ultra in particular) that you’ll want to prop up while watching videos. Case choice also comes down to personal taste, which is why I’ve tried to include a variety of styles in this roundup, all of which CNET editors have tested on one of the S23 series models.

The cases below are listed at the starting price for the line, so make sure you’re buying the case that matches your S23. The same goes for tempered glass for extra protection — match the size to the specific model of your S23, whether that’s the Ultra, Plus or base model.

Clckr’s cases feature a built-in kickstand and grip strap that folds out and clicks into place on the back of your phone. Clckr sells just the stand/strap accessory to stick on the back of your phone (or on a case), but the Galaxy S23 Clear case with the integrated kickstand accessory is better and also comes in a Textured version if translucency is not your thing. I wouldn’t say the cases are super protective but they’re sturdy enough, with raised edges to protect the screen.

With the stand clicked in place, you can use your device hands-free in either portrait or landscape mode. Note that you can wirelessly charge your phone with this case on, though you have to be more careful about placing it in the right spot on a wireless charging pad for it to work.

    Spigen cases

If you’re looking for a cheap, clear case for your new Galaxy S23, Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid is a good value at around $16 to $19, depending on the version you get. I like the Ultra Hybrid Zero One that has an imprint of the innards of your phone, which makes it look like the back of your phone is open and exposed when it really isn’t.

I also like the Ultra Hybrid S ($20), which is a clear case with a built-in kickstand. The Neo Hybrid ($20) is a fairly basic case, while the Cryo Armor is a $21 triple-layer “gaming” case that’s designed to “absorb and dissipate heat from your phone during hours of gameplay.”

No drop rating is listed for these Samsung phone cases, but most Spigen cases, except for the slimmest models, offer reasonable protection. If you want a tough case with decent protection, get one of its Armor models.

Note that a lot of these cheaper clear cases have a habit of turning yellow and degrading over time, which makes them less translucent. But they’re cheap enough that you probably won’t mind shelling out for a replacement if and when that happens.

I like the Symmetry series cases — they’re slim with beveled edges, making them a good mix of sleek and protective. That said, I’ve come to like the more protective Commuter Series better, thanks to the grips it has on the back and sides, as well as having raised edges on the front that should help protect your screen. The raised bezel acts as a screen protector to keep your screen scratch-free, and the camera module gets the same treatment.

But the case has Peak Design’s own built-in magnetic locking system — the company calls it SlimLink — that connects to a wide assortment of Peak Design’s mobile mounts and accessories. That includes bike mounts, charging stands, tripods, car mounts and more. The only Peak Design accessory I don’t recommend is the wallet, which doesn’t lock onto the case and doesn’t stick to it that securely.

When you combine Peak Design’s accessories with all the MagSafe accessories out there, you certainly get a lot of accessory options to choose from. The case is relatively slim with a 6-foot drop protection rating, though note there are more protective cases on this list with a little better corner protection. Unlike with earlier Peak cases for Samsung phones, you can use your S-Pen stylus accessory while your phone is in the case; there was previously an issue with the magnet array design with earlier Galaxy phones.

    Best Samsung-branded S23 case

    Samsung Clear Gadget case

Samsung’s Clear Gadget Cover has a built-in ring kickstand that allows you to prop the phone up horizontally. You’ll also be able to attach other optional accessories to the case. The Gadget case is available for all three S23 models but makes more sense for the larger Plus and Ultra models.

    Value kickstand S23 case

    ESR Kickstand case

Particularly with the two larger models of the Galaxy S23, I find that having an integrated kickstand is a nice feature, and the ESR kickstand case is about as affordable as you get at around $20. It could dip to closer to $15 in time.

Modular wallet case for Galaxy S23

    Samsung Frame case

Samsung’s new Frame case for Galaxy S23 is an interesting concept. In the box you get a “frame” (we used to call this a bumper case) and two interchangeable backplates — one clear and one card slot — so you can go with a wallet-style case or plain case. Needless to say, you’ll also be able to buy other backplates with different designs to give your case a new look if you get bored with it.

    Cyrill cases

Cyrill is a sub-brand of Spigen and like Spigen, its cases generally sell for less than $20. Cyrill doesn’t have quite the same selection for the Galaxy S23 as it does for the iPhone 14, but it does offer its UltraColor case, which has a soft-to-the-touch finish. It has a raised frame on the back that provides some extra protection for the camera lenses. The corners of the case have a raised lip as well.

Top leather case for Galaxy S23

    Samsung leather case

Available in black, green and camel, Samsung’s leather case offers a nice, smooth yet grippy feel with decent edge protection in a slim package. Alas, there’s no kickstand, but if you’re looking for a clean, elegantly designed case, this Samsung-branded leather case fits the bill.

    MagSafe-compatible Galaxy S23 case

    Mous magnetic-connection cases

For the Galaxy S23, UK-based Mous has done something a little different. It’s brought MagSafe compatibility to its line of Samsung cases with a few different eye-catching styles, all of them lined with the AiroShock material that the company says delivers excellent protection in a slim design (you can use MagSafe and other magnetic accessories with these cases).

Based on my previous experience with Mous cases, they do seem durable and all include a lifetime warranty. I’m personally a fan of the Iridescent model pictured, but the Walnut, Bamboo and Silver Pearl cases are also nice.

Wide assortment of Galaxy S23 cases

    Incipio cases

Incipio has its usual robust lineup of cases for the Galaxy S23, including old favorites like the sturdy Duo (pictured in red; 12-foot drop protection), Grip (14-foot drop protection) and the Organicore (14-foot drop protection), which is an eco case that’s 100% compostable and is now available with a translucent back. It also has licensing deals with Kate Spade and Coach, and some of those cases offer eye-catching designs.

At $35, the Duo is the most affordable of the bunch, but look for prices to come down once the phones have been out for a while.

    Rokform S23 Rugged case

Rokform’s been making tough smartphone cases for years, and aside from their durability, their key feature is the ability to use them with various mounts — including bike, car and motorcycle mounts — that are sold separately.

Rokform’s cases have removable magnets and they’re compatible with wireless charging if you remove the included center magnet. “With the lower magnet still intact, you can still wireless-charge while utilizing magnetic mounting and all of our mounts,” Rokform says.

    Otterbox Strada

When you have a phone with a large screen, it can be a good idea to get some added screen protection with a folio case that also has slots for a couple of credit cards. Otterbox’s folio case, the Strada, is nicely designed with a magnetic clasp. Its only drawback is that it doesn’t convert into a kickstand for watching videos.

Note that the photo pictured is the case for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the S23 Ultra’s case looks very similar.

Browns vs. Seahawks Livestream: How to Watch NFL Week 8 Online Today

The Cleveland Browns enter Sunday’s Week 8 matchup at 4-2, but also fairly banged up. After losing star running back Nick Chubb earlier this season, his replacement Jerome Ford is now out after getting hurt in Week 7. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has also been ruled out of Sunday’s game in Seattle as he looks to rehab a shoulder injury.

They will face a Seahawks team that is similarly 4-2 after winning in Week 7 against the Cardinals without star wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.

Kickoff for Sunday’s contest is set for 1:05 p.m. PT (4:05 p.m. ET) on CBS. We’ll show you how you can watch, even if the game isn’t available on your local CBS channel.

The game will be shown on TV in the Cleveland and Seattle areas (according to 506 Sports) on live TV streaming services, but there may be cases where you’re blocked because of an internet location glitch, or you just want an added layer of privacy for streaming. There’s an option that doesn’t require subscribing to something like NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Plus, or searching the internet for a sketchy website: You can use a virtual private network, or VPN.

Here’s how you can watch the game from anywhere in the US with a VPN.

Browns vs. Seahawks: When and where?

For Week 8 of the NFL season, the Seahawks host the Browns at 1:05 p.m. PT (4:05 p.m. ET) on Sunday. The game is set to take place at Lumen Field in Seattle, home of the Seahawks.

How to watch the Browns vs. Seahawks game online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view the game locally due to incorrectly applied blackout restrictions, you may need a different way to watch the game and that’s where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, plus it’s a great idea for when you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you’re able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US and Canada, as long as you’ve got a legitimate subscription to the service you’re streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Livestream the Browns vs. Seahawks game in the US

This week’s Browns-Seahawks game is on Fox, so in addition to a VPN set to an area carrying the game (see tips below) you’ll need a live TV streaming service that carries a local Fox affiliate that’s broadcasting the game. The least expensive such service is Sling TV Blue.

Numerous other live TV streaming services carry local Fox stations as well, namely YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream and FuboTV. They all cost more than Sling TV, but they also carry more channels, including football-broadcasting channels like ESPN. Check out our live TV streaming services guide for details.

If you live in an area where the game is being broadcast, an over-the-air antenna connected to your TV provides another option for Fox. The best part about antennas is that there are no streaming or monthly fees required, though you will need to make sure you have good reception.

Quick tips for streaming Browns vs. Seahawks using a VPN

    • With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — experience and success may vary.
    • Sling Blue is only an option if and when the ability to get Fox local affiliates is active on your account. You may want to verify that your billing address is eligible for that option before committing your credit card.
    • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search for city or country” option.
    • If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
    • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
    • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave.
