US to broadcast firing‑squad execution via livestream

Anonymous Defense Department officials told the BBC and Associated Press that the execution of the Fort Hood shooter will be livestreamed. Nidal Hasan, the former Army major convicted of killing 13 people at the Texas military base, is scheduled to die by firing squad on December 3rd at 2 p.m. ET, as announced this week.

Pete Hegseth said the execution will be public. Techgeeks contacted YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Meta, Rumble and Kick to ask whether they would carry the livestream; none had responded before publication. Hegseth added, “We’ll make sure people can watch it, that it’s public, because folks need to grasp the serious consequences of such acts,” in an interview with Real America’s Voice.
