The Volkswagen ID. Polo has been officially announced, marking a significant milestone. This beloved and legendary model, with more than 20 million units sold, is now transitioning to a fully electric powertrain. Crafted in Wolfsburg, the ID. Polo begins at 24,995 euros in Germany, offering an accessible entry point for a genuine electric vehicle.
Regarding the key specifications, buyers can choose from three motor outputs: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. The initial two configurations are equipped with a 37 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 329 km of range. The flagship 155 kW model upgrades to a 52 kWh battery, enabling a maximum range of 454 km per charge.
Every variant is compatible with DC fast charging, allowing the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in roughly 23 to 24 minutes.
Does the ID. Polo’s styling represent a new beginning or a refined version of the classic?
The redesigned ID. Polo embraces Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive design language.” It showcases balanced proportions, a C-pillar design drawn from the original Golf, and a rear profile that feels authentically upscale. It remains unmistakably a Polo, albeit with a more sophisticated and contemporary aesthetic.
VolkswagenMeasuring 4,053 mm in length, the vehicle offers more interior room than anticipated. The cargo area has expanded by 25%, increasing from 351 to 441 liters, and can accommodate up to 1,240 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
Inside, drivers are greeted by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch central touchscreen infotainment display. An optional vintage-style display mode, which recreates the aesthetic of the original Golf’s gauges, adds a charming detail.

Every trim level includes LED headlights, lane-keeping assist, and DC fast charging as standard equipment. The mid-tier Life trim enhances the package with adaptive cruise control, a backup camera, CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging.
The top-tier Style trim upgrades to LED matrix headlights, heated and massaging front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and other premium features. It also incorporates a vehicle-to-load capability, allowing the ID. Polo to power external devices like e-bikes via a 230 V outlet located inside the cabin.
Pre-sales launch in Germany today, with the 155 kW powertrain version priced from 33,795 euros. The entry-level 24,995 euro model will be available this summer.
