The Volkswagen ID. Polo has officially arrived, marking a significant milestone for the brand. As one of VW’s most cherished and legendary models, with more than 20 million sold worldwide, the Polo is now going fully electric. Built in Wolfsburg, the new ID. Polo begins at 24,995 euros in Germany, offering an accessible price point for a genuine electric vehicle.
Regarding the key specifications, buyers can choose from three powertrains: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. The lower-power models are equipped with a 37 kWh battery, delivering up to 329 km of range. The top-tier 155 kW model upgrades to a 52 kWh battery, extending the range to 454 km on a single charge.
All three versions support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 23 to 24 minutes.
Does the ID. Polo’s design represent a new direction or an evolution of the classic?
The updated ID. Polo embraces Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive design language.” It showcases balanced proportions, a C-pillar design reminiscent of the first-generation Golf, and a rear that exudes a premium feel. It remains instantly identifiable as a Polo, albeit with a more sophisticated and contemporary aesthetic.
VolkswagenMeasuring 4,053 mm in length, the car offers more interior space than anticipated. The luggage compartment has increased by 25%, growing from 351 to 441 liters, and can expand to 1,240 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
Inside, there is a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch central touchscreen for infotainment. An optional retro-themed display mode, which emulates the instrument panel of the original Golf, adds a nostalgic touch.

All trims come standard with LED headlights, lane assist, and DC fast charging. The mid-range Life trim adds adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless phone charging.
The top Style trim includes LED matrix headlights, heated and massaging seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. It also features a vehicle-to-load capability, allowing the ID. Polo to power devices like e-bikes via a 230 V outlet inside the cabin.
Pre-sales in Germany start today, with prices beginning at 33,795 euros for the 155 kW powertrain. The base variant, priced at 24,995 euros, will be available this summer.
