When I reviewed OhSnap’s ultra-thin Snap Grip Stand, I was so impressed that I ended up buying one myself. The company now has a magnetic lever-action card wallet that can stack with that stand, and it’s the most impressive phone-mounted wallet I’ve used.
Pulling the built-in spring-loaded lever makes your cards fan open. If you prefer a thicker or slimmer profile, press the designated spot to disassemble it without tools, then insert a 3-, 5-, or 7-card core that holds your cards securely in place.
Need an ID card, employee badge, elastic band for extra cards, or a money clip at the end? The front and back magnetic plates can be swapped for any of those options. You can also replace both with ultra-thin aluminum covers if you don’t want the wallet to magnetically attach to your phone.
You can watch it in action in my Today I’m Toying With video embedded in this post (also available on YouTube and Instagram if you prefer).
What I like most is that the entire kit snaps together through a compliant mechanism: the plastic arms on the card-carrying core behave like springs, pushing a small locking feature into notches on each modular cover as the pieces slide together. After your cards are inside, they hold the arms apart so the wallet won’t open accidentally (unless you drop the whole thing). It’s remarkably clever.
